Job Summary

We are seeking a highly experienced and skilled professional to join our team as Head of Commercial Policy and Government Relations. As a key member of our Corporate Affairs function, you will play a critical role in shaping our commercial strategy and influencing government policy to drive business growth.

About the Role

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive government relations strategy to support our commercial objectives.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with key government stakeholders, including cabinet ministers and senior officials.
  • Provide strategic counsel to our leadership team on commercial policy issues and their impact on our business.
  • Lead the development of our public policy agenda and ensure it is aligned with our commercial strategy.
  • Collaborate with our Industry and Communications teams to deliver a cohesive and effective external affairs program.
  • Identify and capitalize on opportunities to influence policy and regulatory developments that impact our business.
  • Develop and maintain a network of contacts within the government and wider policy-making community.

Requirements

  • Deep experience in government relations and policy, with a proven track record of influencing policy and political debate.
  • Strong commercial acumen and budget responsibility.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong relationships with senior stakeholders.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and take an innovative, integrated approach to strategic policy execution.
  • Understanding of data-led organizations and the ability to put audience analysis to effect in external communications.
  • Understanding and aptitude in broader corporate communication, financial communications, reputation management, and crisis communication.
