Employee Relations Specialist

Salary: £30,000 - £33,000

Location: Nottinghamshire

Macmillan Davies Hodes is excited to announce an opening for an Employee Relations Specialist to join a prestigious sports and luxury retail organization that leads the market.

We are looking for a seasoned Employee Relations Specialist with a robust focus on employee engagement to become part of our comprehensive People team. In this role, you will be the primary contact for inquiries related to HR matters, assisting with employee relations and providing exceptional support to management through expert advice and guidance.

This position is ideal for a well-versed Employee Relations Specialist or a highly capable HR Coordinator/Assistant who has experience in employee relations and is seeking to advance to the next level.

This role will be situated at the main office, requiring attendance five days a week, with no travel obligations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assist the HR Business Partner by delivering generalist, proactive support on various employee relations matters.
  • Offer a responsive service to employees seeking guidance on company policies, procedures, and employment law.
  • Foster a positive employee relations environment by coaching and empowering managers in their people management duties.
  • Provide operational support and counsel on employee relations issues, including disciplinary actions, grievances, and appeals.
  • Assist with redundancy consultations and TUPE processes as required.
  • Manage absence effectively by identifying and resolving complex cases, monitoring key performance indicators, and suggesting preventive strategies.

Required Skills & Experience:

  • Demonstrated experience in a similar employee relations or HR role.
  • Proficient in managing employee relations cases, including disciplinary actions, grievances, absences, and redundancies.
  • Resilient, adaptable, assertive, and confident in approach.
  • Strong stakeholder management and change management capabilities.
  • Excellent analytical and systems skills.
  • Customer-oriented mindset.
  • Effective problem-solving skills in a dynamic business environment.
