This is a fixed-term opportunity for a Consultant Psychiatrist within the Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service (CAMHS) in the East London NHS Foundation Trust.
The position is designed to provide additional psychiatric expertise while the organization seeks to fill a permanent 8PA Consultant role within the Emotional and Behavioural team.
The service has a long-standing reputation for delivering comprehensive assessments and treatments for young individuals up to 18 years old, along with their families and caregivers residing in the local area.
The successful candidate will be responsible for delivering psychiatric care to the Emotional Behavioural Team, which encompasses young people facing ADHD and various mental health or psychosocial challenges.
Leadership within the team is provided by a non-medical Clinical Team Leader, ensuring that the post holder is not expected to undertake senior responsibilities.
- Clinical Responsibilities
The role involves conducting psychiatric evaluations and treatments as necessary, providing a psychiatric viewpoint, and offering guidance to other professionals.
- Team Collaboration and Medical Oversight
The Consultant Psychiatrist will collaborate with multidisciplinary colleagues to enhance the operational efficiency of the service.
In accordance with the terms and conditions of service, the post holder is expected to adhere to the established policies of the East London Child and Adolescent Mental Health Service and follow the clinical procedures developed in consultation with the profession.
The post holder is also required to comply with Trust policies.
