About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Consultant Psychiatrist to join our CAMHS team at Springfield Hospital in Wandsworth. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will provide medical leadership and expertise in the assessment, diagnosis, and treatment of young people with moderate to severe mental health needs.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide medical leadership and guidance to the CAMHS team, ensuring high-quality care and treatment for young people.
  • Conduct comprehensive assessments and develop treatment plans for young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals, including psychologists, social workers, and nurses, to provide a comprehensive and coordinated approach to care.
  • Develop and implement training programs for staff to enhance their skills and knowledge in working with young people with mental health needs.
  • Contribute to the development and implementation of service policies and procedures, ensuring they are aligned with best practice and national guidelines.
Person Specification

We are looking for a Consultant Psychiatrist with:

  • MB BS or equivalent medical qualification.
  • CCT or equivalent in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry.
  • MRCPsych Paper A and B.
  • Experience in working with young people with complex mental health needs.
  • Strong leadership and communication skills.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a multidisciplinary team.
