An exciting opportunity has emerged with a client in the engineering sector, seeking a Compliance and Standards Specialist to become an integral part of their team in this crucial position.

Key Responsibilities - Compliance and Standards Specialist


The primary goal will be to re-establish a comprehensive range of standard components and documentation that will be utilized across all divisions of the organization to enhance the efficient processing of sales orders and ultimately minimize component costs.


Collaborating closely with the Operations Director and Engineering Lead, the successful applicant will spearhead the development of a standards division, pinpointing areas for enhancement and establishing cohesive business processes for revision management, obsolescence, and the updating of all technical drawings, ensuring that all divisions maintain clarity regarding current standards and the latest revisions of components and drawings at all times.


The initial focus of this role will be to establish and oversee the client's ATEX Ex initiative.


Working in tandem with the Engineering team and the Group Product Compliance Manager, the successful candidate will formulate and manage a comprehensive project plan to deliver a specific ATEX Certified product along with the necessary documentation.

Qualifications & Requirements - Compliance and Standards Specialist

Regulatory Compliance: Ensure that processes and products meet compliance standards and are effectively integrated.

Company Protocols: Oversee all engineering-related documented procedures and guidelines.

Quality Assurance: Manage revisions, obsolescence, and updates of all technical drawings, ensuring that all divisions have clarity regarding current standards and the latest revisions at all times.

Continuous Improvement: Align all Engineering Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs), Engineering Change Requests (ECRs), and Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPAs) into the Standards division.

Knowledge Hub: Develop the Standards division as the central repository and knowledge hub for all products and engineered components through effective collaboration and communication throughout the organization.


Experience in a mechanical and electrical components and assemblies environment is essential.


Familiarity with machinery compliance standards (ATEX, EMC, LVD, CE) or equivalent is preferred.


A highly organized and methodical approach is required, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple improvement projects effectively.


A creative and practical problem solver is essential.


Experience in Bulk Mechanical Handling or a similar industry is advantageous.
