We are seeking an experienced Electrical Maintenance Specialist to join our team at Hays Specialist Recruitment Limited. As an Electrical Maintenance Specialist, you will be responsible for undertaking effective, compliant, and timely delivery of planned and reactive electrical maintenance tasks at the MOD Barracks and surrounding area.

You will work as part of the on-site engineering team and daily tasks will be allocated via tablet device or paper-based task instruction. Your primary focus will be on ensuring all tasks and relevant records are completed comprehensively and timely within service level agreements.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Completing compliance activity and minor works in accordance with JSP375
  • Undertaking minor installation works e.g. refurbishment projects
  • Ensuring all H&S documentation (RAMS) are present prior to engaging the task
  • Reviewing and contributing to Risk Assessments and Method Statements
  • Working from drawings and specifications and other documentation without the need for direct supervision
  • Notifying management of any defects on equipment or systems
  • Attending team briefs, Toolbox talks and technical bulletins
  • Mentorship of apprentices

The client will ensure they give you all the skills and training to empower you to be able to work with minimal supervision and make decisions on the most appropriate repair solution. Requirements:

  • Full, clean UK driving licence
  • 18th edition electrical qualifications
  • C&G City and Guilds 2391 Inspection and Testing (desirable)
  • Experience of operating within either an MOD or Construction/Property Maintenance environment
  • SC Clearance
