Role Overview:

Dovetail and Slate Ltd is looking for a dedicated and experienced Senior Lecturer in Mechanical Engineering to enhance our educational team. The ideal candidate will play a pivotal role in providing exceptional teaching and learning experiences for students pursuing Mechanical Engineering up to Level 3. This position requires a committed educator with a profound understanding of the mechanical engineering discipline and a passion for fostering student achievement.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Teaching and Instruction:
    • Design, prepare, and deliver compelling lectures and hands-on sessions in Mechanical Engineering for students at Level 3.
    • Develop and refine course materials, lesson plans, and assessments to align with educational and industry standards.
    • Employ diverse teaching strategies and resources to cater to various learning preferences and capabilities.
  • Student Support and Development:
    • Offer academic support and mentorship to students, guiding them towards their educational aspirations.
    • Evaluate and track student progress, providing constructive feedback and assistance to enhance their performance.
    • Create a welcoming and inclusive learning atmosphere that promotes student involvement and engagement.
  • Curriculum Development:
    • Collaborate with peers to assess and improve the Mechanical Engineering curriculum.
    • Ensure course content reflects contemporary industry practices and technological innovations.
Qualifications and Experience:
  • Essential:
    • A minimum of a Level 3 qualification in Mechanical Engineering.
    • A recognized teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, Cert Ed, or equivalent).
    • Experience in teaching Mechanical Engineering at the Further Education level or equivalent.
  • Desirable:
    • Higher-level qualifications in Mechanical Engineering (e.g., HNC, HND, or degree).
    • Experience in curriculum design and assessment development.
    • Familiarity with modern educational technologies and teaching methodologies.
