About the Role:

We are seeking an experienced Head of Operations to join our client, a leading contractor within the water sector. As a key member of the senior team, you will be responsible for overseeing and being responsible for all design, operations, engineering, and delivery activities.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Plan direction and key deliverables: Work closely with the Ops Director to plan direction and key deliverables for multiple operational, site, and design teams.
  • Client satisfaction: Ensure client-specific requests and contractual obligations are met by working closely with managers and teams.
  • Commercial arrangements: Develop new opportunities and project growth and resource plans to ensure commercial arrangements are in place.
  • Budgetary and operational targets: Deliver to budgetary and operational associated targets, set by Frameworks teams.
  • Health, Safety, and Quality: Ensure Health, Safety, and all related quality and environmental strategic factors are embedded into daily operations.
  • Technical expertise: Provide technical expertise to clients and customers, undertaking client visits and external events when appropriate.
  • CDM compliance: Be responsible for full CDM compliance.

Requirements:

  • Qualifications: HND or similar in Engineering (ideally Mechanical or Electrical but open)
  • Experience: 3+ years working in a similar senior position
  • Industry experience: Previous experience working within the water industry, ideally through a Tier 1 or Tier 2 contractor
  • Leadership skills: Proven leadership skills and able to guide and support teams
  • Commercial acumen: Good understanding of Utilities operations along with good commercial acumen
  • Cost and Tender experience: Proven cost and tender experience

Package:

  • Salary: £75,000 basic salary (potentially flexible within reason for the right person)
