Deputy Director of HR Operations

Greenpeace UK is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Deputy Director of HR Operations to join our team. As a key member of our HR department, you will be responsible for leading the operational delivery of HR services, including recruitment, employee relations, and talent development.

This is a rare opportunity to join a prestigious charity at an exciting time. You will help embed a positive and high-performing culture with a focus on diversity and inclusion. The Deputy Director of HR Operations will need to build constructive relationships with colleagues at all levels, influencing when necessary.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Lead on the operational delivery of HR services, including recruitment, employee relations, and talent development.
  • Manage a talented and developing HR team, providing guidance and coaching to senior leaders and managers.
  • Operationalise our strategic plans and deputise for the People & Culture Director as needed.
  • Provide guidance and regular coaching to senior leaders and managers.
  • Manage complex casework across the employee lifecycle, including employee relations, wellbeing, and performance management.

  • 25 days Annual Leave for full-time staff, with additional leave accrued according to length of service up to a maximum of 32 days.
  • Our office is normally closed between Christmas and new year, and staff are not required to use annual leave to cover this period.
