Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Indirect Tax Manager to join our team at Stark Building Materials UK. As a key member of our tax department, you will be responsible for managing the UK VAT compliance process, including technical review of the quarterly VAT returns.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the UK VAT compliance process, including technical review of the quarterly VAT returns for sign-off by the Head of UK Tax.

  • Proactively work with our external tax advisors to improve the VAT return process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Monitor changes to VAT legislation and review/update internal procedures on a periodic basis to ensure the company remains compliant.

  • Provide support to the UK property team to ensure VAT compliance on relevant transactions and provide advice on VAT treatment as required.

  • Liaise with HMRC as appropriate to resolve issues and clarify VAT treatment as required.

  • Provide guidance and support to branch managers in respect of customer VAT queries and ensure that all VAT-related matters are handled in a timely and efficient manner.

Requirements:

  • Strong knowledge of UK VAT legislation and regulations.

  • Proven experience in managing VAT compliance processes and ensuring compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with internal stakeholders and external tax advisors.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks effectively to meet deadlines.

  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to identify and resolve VAT-related issues.
