Stark Building Materials UK is a leading provider of building materials, and we're seeking an experienced Indirect Tax Manager to join our team. As a key member of our tax department, you will work closely with our Head of UK Tax to develop and implement effective VAT compliance strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the UK VAT compliance process, including technical review of the quarterly VAT returns for sign-off by the Head of UK Tax.

  • Collaborate with our external VAT advisors to improve the VAT return process and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations.

  • Monitor changes to VAT legislation and update internal procedures on a periodic basis to ensure the business remains compliant.

  • Provide support to our property team to ensure VAT compliance on relevant transactions and provide advice on VAT treatment.

  • Liaise with HMRC as necessary to resolve issues and clarify VAT treatment.

  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including branch managers and external partners.

  • Contribute to the development of tax policies and procedures to ensure the business remains compliant and up-to-date with changing regulations.

  • Provide guidance and support to colleagues on VAT-related matters.

Requirements:

  • Proven experience in indirect tax and VAT compliance.
  • Strong technical knowledge of VAT legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
