Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with haematological malignancies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care and support to patients with haematological cancers, including those with complex needs and comorbidities.
  • Work collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to develop and implement individualized care plans, ensuring seamless transitions and optimal patient outcomes.
  • Conduct holistic needs assessments, identifying and addressing patients' physical, emotional, and informational needs.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with patients, families, and carers, providing education, support, and guidance throughout the patient journey.
  • Participate in audit and research activities, contributing to the development of evidence-based practice and quality improvement initiatives.
  • Act as a clinical expert and resource for the team, providing guidance and support on haematology-related issues.

Person Specification

We are looking for a highly motivated and experienced Haematology Nurse Specialist with a strong background in haematology nursing. The ideal candidate will possess:

  • First-level nursing registration and post-registration qualification in haematology
  • First-level degree in a related subject and evidence of continued professional development
  • Recognized teaching qualification or working towards
  • Chemotherapy qualification and experience of working in a haematology-related area
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with patients, families, and colleagues
