Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Haematology Nurse Specialist to join our team at Bedfordshire Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our multidisciplinary team, you will be responsible for delivering high-quality, patient-centered care to individuals with haematological malignancies.

Main Responsibilities
  • Provide expert nursing care and support to patients and their families, including holistic needs assessment and individualized care planning.
  • Work autonomously and collaboratively with the multidisciplinary team to deliver evidence-based care and improve patient outcomes.
  • Develop and implement new ways of working to improve patient care and experience.
  • Contribute to the development of the nursing service and participate in quality improvement initiatives.
  • Provide education and training to colleagues and students, and contribute to the development of clinical guidelines and policies.

Person Specification
  • Essential:
    • First-level nursing registration
    • Post-registration qualification in haematology or a related field
    • First-level degree in a related subject
    • Evidence of continued professional development
    • Recognized teaching qualification or working towards
    • Chemotherapy qualification
  • Desirable:
    • Working towards a Master's-level qualification
    • Advanced communication skills
    • Level 2 psychology skills training
    • Non-medical nurse prescribing course
