Person Specification
  • Essential qualifications: first-level nursing registration, post-registration qualification in haematology, first-level degree in a related subject, evidence of continued professional development, recognized teaching qualification or working towards, chemotherapy qualification.
  • Desirable qualifications: working towards a Master's level qualification, advanced communication skills, level 2 psychology skills training, non-medical nurse prescribing course.
  • Essential experience: relevant post-registration experience at band 6 or above in haematology or a cancer-related area, previous experience in a post involving clinical and managerial responsibilities, previous experience of teaching and developing teaching materials, ability to develop new ways of working, ability to deal with complex clinical scenarios, experience of multi-professional working.
  • Desirable experience: previous experience as a clinical nurse specialist, experience of audit and research, ability to lead and influence change.
