About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated Sous Chef to join our award-winning team at Avery Healthcare. As a key member of our culinary team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality culinary services to our residents.

Your focus will be to support the Head Chef in leading a team that provides a comprehensive and nutritionally balanced culinary service, which contributes to the overall well-being of our residents and is achieved within budget.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare modified diets that are appealing and well-balanced, in accordance with IDDSI guidance.
  • Supervise and direct the work of culinary staff, providing instruction and demonstration on simple food preparation activities.
  • Ensure that all food preparation meets the highest hygiene standards, adhering to the principles of safe food handling.
  • Support the culinary team in fully understanding the Avery Food Safety Management System.
About You

Our ideal candidate will hold a relevant catering qualification, have a minimum of 1 year of catering experience, and demonstrate compassion and commitment to delivering high-quality culinary services.

They will also be able to be adaptive and flexible to cover a range of responsibilities at short notice.
