We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Staff Nurse to join our Paediatric Intensive Care Unit (PICU) team at The Portland Hospital. As a Senior Staff Nurse, you will play a key role in delivering high-quality patient care and contributing to the development of our multidisciplinary team.
Key Responsibilities- Provide exceptional patient care to children in the PICU, working collaboratively with the wider multidisciplinary team to develop and implement holistic care plans.
- Take responsibility for the unit in the absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse, ensuring seamless continuity of care.
- Act as a role model and mentor to junior/student nurses, providing guidance and support to help them develop their skills and knowledge.
- Develop and maintain strong relationships with children and their families, providing emotional support and reassurance during times of need.
- Contribute to the development of the PICU team, sharing knowledge and expertise to improve patient outcomes and enhance the overall quality of care.
- NMC Child Registered Nurse (RN Child / RSCN) with immediate paediatric life support.
- Post Graduate experience working in a PICU setting.
- Understanding of Safeguarding issues.
- Teaching and mentoring experience desirable.
- Completion of a PICU Course that is equivalent to 60 credits.
- Excellent clinical governance and experience with audits.
- Experience of supervising and assessing students and shift leading is desirable.
