Job Title: Senior Surgical Staff Nurse

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Surgical Staff Nurse to join our team at The Portland Hospital for Women & Children in London.

Job Summary

The successful candidate will be responsible for assessing, planning, delivering, and evaluating the highest standards of nursing care for patients in the Gynaecology Inpatient ward. This will involve working within a team, supervising and directing junior staff, and providing clinical leadership for nursing and support staff.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and promote protocols for the care and management of women undergoing surgery, including care within a High Dependency setting.
  • Provide clinical leadership for nursing and support staff, ensuring that the clinical area works within management controls and provides consistently high quality care within given budgets and resources.
  • Assist the Ward Sisters in supporting the implementation of new initiatives within the Women's Health Service and represent the service in their absence.
Requirements
  • Registered Nurse Level 1
  • NMC Registration and PREP requirements
  • Extensive experience essential within a UK Hospital setting
  • Experience within a Surgical/Gynae environment
  • ENB course/experience relevant to specialist area desirable but not essential
  • Knowledge of relevant NMC/national guidelines, policies and procedures (Code of conduct)
  • Basic life support
