Job Title: Medicine Safety Nurse

About the Role:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Medicine Safety Nurse to join our team at Wrightington, Wigan and Leigh Teaching Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our Medicines Safety Team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safe use of medicines across our organisation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide specialist advice and support to nursing staff and managers on medicines safety and management.
  • Develop and deliver evidence-based training for clinical staff on medicines management and medication safety.
  • Contribute to the development, implementation, and monitoring of policies and procedures related to medicines management and medication safety.
  • Encourage medication incident reporting and learning from medication incidents to promote safer care.
  • Support the Medicines Safety Group and contribute to the development of medicines management policies and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Recent clinical practice experience and a working knowledge of medicines management processes.
  • Ability to provide complex and sensitive information relating to serious medication incidents.
  • Excellent organisational skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Ability to develop services and problem-solve.
  • Knowledge of professional codes of conduct and maintaining high professional standards.
