Job Overview

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Prehabilitation Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist to join our team at East and North Hertfordshire NHS Trust. As a key member of our Cancer Alliance Prehabilitation Team, you will play a vital role in improving the delivery of prehabilitation services at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre.

This is an exciting opportunity for a therapist to develop their clinical skills within oncology and contribute to the development of our prehabilitation services. You will work closely with our multidisciplinary team to provide patient-centred and evidence-based therapy services to individuals with diverse, chronic, and complex presentations due to their cancer diagnosis and/or treatment.

The successful candidate will have a degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy, HCPC registration, and significant postgraduate experience within cancer, neurology, and/or medicine. You will also have experience of integrated therapy team and MDT working, evidence of involvement in service improvement, and implementation and adherence to Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or Royal College of Occupational Therapists Standards/Guidelines.

Main Duties of the Job

As a Prehabilitation Occupational Therapist or Physiotherapist, your main duties will include:

  • Providing patient-centred and evidence-based therapy services to individuals with diverse, chronic, and complex presentations due to their cancer diagnosis and/or treatment.
  • Developing and implementing prehabilitation services at Mount Vernon Cancer Centre, working closely with our multidisciplinary team.
  • Contributing to the development of our prehabilitation services, including the design and implementation of new programs and services.
  • Working closely with our Therapy and Social Work Team members to ensure effective prioritisation of patients across MVCC.
  • Being a key member of the Cancer Alliance Prehabilitation Team, Therapy and Social Work Team, and AHP Team at MVCC.

Person Specification

The successful candidate will have:

  • A degree in Physiotherapy or Occupational Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • Significant postgraduate experience within cancer, neurology, and/or medicine
  • Experience of integrated therapy team and MDT working
  • Evidence of involvement in service improvement
  • Implementation and adherence to Chartered Society of Physiotherapy or Royal College of Occupational Therapists Standards/Guidelines
