Job Overview: As a Technical Support Engineer at Distinct Consultancy, you will provide engineering support to various areas of the business, including customers and suppliers. Your primary goal will be to contribute to the development and growth of the company while maintaining its safety and quality standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Lead technical meetings with customers to discuss engineering-related matters.
  2. Manage the change process to ensure seamless implementation of new products and services.
  3. Develop and maintain strong relationships with customer counterparts to foster collaboration and trust.
  4. Work closely with cross-functional teams to ensure that all supplied products meet national and international standards and specifications.
  5. Compile comprehensive technical reports to document engineering activities and outcomes.
  6. Act as a technical interface between suppliers and customers to resolve queries and issues.
  7. Provide support during first and final article inspections to ensure quality and compliance.
  8. Review and approve technical documents, including drawings and specifications, to ensure accuracy and adherence to standards.
  9. Support contract variations and concessions to ensure smooth business operations.
  10. Resolve technical queries from customers, suppliers, and internal stakeholders in a timely and professional manner.
  11. Participate in audits to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and company standards.
  12. Contribute to product improvements to enhance life cycle cost and performance.
  13. Support special investigations, including joint investigations and warranty issues, to resolve technical queries and concerns.
  14. Assist in the implementation of new product classes into production areas to ensure seamless integration.
  15. Reverse engineer components to improve product design and functionality.
  16. Promote a positive health and safety culture within the organization.

Requirements:

A minimum of two years of experience in a technical role within a manufacturing environment.

Desired Skills and Qualifications:

  1. A technical degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  2. Chartered or Incorporated Engineering status with a recognized institution is preferred.
  3. Ability to read and interpret technical engineering drawings and specifications.
  4. Proficiency in Microsoft Office software and familiarity with AutoCAD and SolidWorks.
  5. Excellent problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and written and verbal communication skills.
