The Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Senior Mental Health Nurse to join our dedicated team specializing in older adult mental health care. In this role, you will play a pivotal part in providing comprehensive assessments, developing individualized care plans, and delivering evidence-based interventions to support the well-being of our elderly patients.

Responsibilities

  • Conduct thorough mental health assessments and develop personalized care plans for older adults with diverse needs.
  • Administer medications safely and effectively, ensuring adherence to best practices and legal guidelines.
  • Collaborate closely with a multidisciplinary team, including physicians, social workers, and therapists, to provide holistic care.
  • Educate patients, families, and caregivers about mental health conditions, treatment options, and self-management strategies.
  • Advocate for the rights and well-being of older adults, ensuring their voices are heard and respected.

Qualifications and Experience

  • Registered Mental Nurse (RMN) qualification is essential.
  • Substantial experience in mental health care, with a focus on older adult populations.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of evidence-based interventions for mental health conditions in older adults.
  • Excellent communication, interpersonal, and problem-solving skills.
