Job Summary

Spinner Medical Recruitment is seeking an exceptional Academic Mental Health Specialist to join our team in Darwin, Northern Territory, Australia. As a Senior Psychiatrist, you will play a key role in providing first-class care and advice to patients, carers, and families in inpatient, community, and outreach settings.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Provide consultant advice to colleagues internally and in other specialties.
  2. Develop and implement strategies across the service to ensure clinical governance is at the highest standards.
  3. Lead and participate in quality improvement, audit, teaching, and other initiatives.
  4. Advocate for professional development and ensure that your Continuing Professional Development (CPD) is up to date.

Selection Criteria

  1. FRANZCP or specialist training completed in Ireland, UK, USA, Sri Lanka (with Australian or NZ international placement), Canada, or South Africa.
  2. Completion of a formal post in child and adolescent psychiatry of at least 6 months if trained in the countries listed above.
  3. Experience in delivering specialist care in multicultural environments.
  4. Experience in rural and remote mental health care provision will be highly regarded.
