ERP Functional Support Senior Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and proactive individual to join our team as an ERP Functional Support Senior Officer. The role is to be part of an essential team responsible for ensuring the effective operational delivery of the council's ERP system as part of a transactional shared service on behalf of both Cheshire West and Chester and Cheshire East Councils.

About the Role

This role is to provide maternity cover as a senior officer responsible for supporting the council's ERP system, Unit, with a particular focus on payroll processes and configuration. The ideal candidate will have a functional configuration background ideally in Unit but other similar roles and experience would be desirable. They must also have a history of working in system administration providing support for system defects and configuration changes. Experience and knowledge of transactional, finance and/or payroll processes is essential as well as experience of configuration management and testing.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide frontline support for Unit system administration and functional configuration.
  • Maintenance and administration of system settings and attributes.
  • Co-ordinate delivery of incident testing and resolution.
  • Monitoring system performance and resolving/supporting defect calls.
  • Supporting the implementation of system maintenance updates and investigating/troubleshooting errors that may arise.
Requirements

This role would suit someone with IT experience in ERP applications and knowledge of Microsoft Office. The role requires excellent communication skills and an ability to interpret and present data in a meaningful way. A pro-active and positive attitude with the ability to manage priorities effectively within a fast-paced environment is key.

An understanding of finance and payroll processes is vital to support team members in creating a positive and effective working environment and maintain customer relationships. Proven experience of analysing and documenting complex business processes and configuration management to ensure procedures are effective and completed successfully is also required.
