The OPS Therapy Team is dedicated to assessing and managing patients who arrive in the Emergency Department, Older Persons Assessment Unit, and inpatient wards throughout the hospital.

Our team is committed to ensuring that older individuals admitted to our acute care facility receive exemplary treatment from clinicians who adopt a holistic approach and demonstrate a genuine passion for caring for the elderly.

The primary responsibilities of this role involve collaborating with the Therapy team (Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, and Therapy Assistants) on our Older Persons Medicine wards. You will assist the team in rehabilitation efforts aimed at preventing hospital-associated physical and cognitive decline, as well as supporting qualified staff with home visits and various administrative tasks, including equipment procurement and overall organization.

We will provide you with the necessary support and training to help you achieve the required competency levels.

Our in-house training program and supportive clinical staff will guide you through your development.

Main Responsibilities
The position entails working on weekends, and the successful candidate will be expected to participate in weekend shifts.

A valid UK driving license is required for this role.

Some administrative duties will be part of your responsibilities.

Previous experience working with older adults in either an acute hospital or community setting is preferred.

Base Location:
Royal Bournemouth Hospital

This transformation may involve relocating some services this year or next, either temporarily or permanently.
