Base Materials Ltd is a prominent chemical engineering firm operating across two locations, specializing in the production of high-quality materials used in styling, modeling, and tooling for precision manufacturing. Our products serve a wide array of industries, including automotive, aerospace, motorsport, marine, and various industrial applications.
In line with our ambitious Growth Strategy, we are looking to enhance our internal capabilities by introducing a newly defined UK Sales Manager position. Our organization is currently experiencing significant growth, and we require a dynamic leader to spearhead our Business Development team, providing focused and motivational leadership to capitalize on emerging opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead and manage the sales team with a focus on achieving targets.
- Establish and pursue challenging annual objectives for the team.
- Ensure the team is equipped with essential tools for success, including pricing information, performance reports, and access to necessary systems.
- Develop clear action plans for each team member on a weekly, monthly, and quarterly basis.
- Enhance productivity by reviewing and implementing efficient sales processes.
- Monitor sales activities closely and proactively initiate improvements to align actual performance with strategic plans.
- Optimize the current CRM system (Salesforce) for improved operational efficiency.
- Prepare and deliver comprehensive sales performance reports regularly.
- Oversee a targeted approach to cross-selling and up-selling within the existing customer base.
- Coach and support team members to achieve their targets and objectives.
- Provide market insights to company leadership regarding competitive offerings.
- Collaborate with senior management to develop and execute the Sales Strategy.
- Identify and implement ambitious growth initiatives across all service offerings.
- Set and monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) to ensure progress and take corrective actions as needed.
- Manage key accounts effectively.
- Meet established KPIs related to team management and customer retention.
- Foster the development of the sales team through meaningful objectives and performance appraisals.
Qualifications:
- Formal sales training or equivalent experience.
- A minimum of 5 years in a sales leadership role.
- Proven success in driving revenue growth through effective sales strategies.
- Demonstrated ability to penetrate new markets and build strong relationships.
- High capacity for learning and adapting quickly.
- Strong organizational skills and adherence to internal processes.
- Ability to work independently and collaboratively across departments.
- Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
- Detail-oriented with a methodical approach.
- Proficient in Excel and familiar with Sage 50 and Salesforce CRM.
- Competent in Microsoft Office Suite.
