Social Worker

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Social Worker to join our team on a permanent basis. As a Social Worker, you will play a vital role in ensuring the safety and well-being of vulnerable individuals and families within our community.
Key Responsibilities- Act as an officer of the Local Authority, executing statutory functions to safeguard and support individuals to achieve positive outcomes.
- Work in partnership with other professionals and agencies to intervene and promote social change, maximizing independence and providing information and advice about third sector and universal services.
- Apply professional curiosity and use social work theories and knowledge to formulate and test hypotheses, reaching professional judgments and decisions.
- Produce high-quality professional documentation, relevant to your service area, and prioritize your workload to meet defined timescales.
- Effectively balance the protection of individual rights with the need to use professional authority and accountability to safeguard vulnerable individuals.
- Represent the Local Authority in various forums, upholding the profession and promoting its values.
- Demonstrate an effective and active use of supervision for accountability, professional reflection, and development.
- Have a working knowledge and understanding of the legal and policy frameworks that inform social work practice and safeguard vulnerable service users.
- Be able to communicate clearly and effectively with service users, families, carers, colleagues, and other professionals, ensuring individual views, opinions, and wishes are explicitly recorded.
- Have excellent organizational skills, prioritizing workload according to risk and need, and be able to work autonomously.
- Demonstrate skills in sharing information appropriately and respectfully, recognizing lines of accountability and professional autonomy and discretion.
- Be familiar with and demonstrate practice that meets the required level within social work frameworks, such as the PCF and KSS.
- Demonstrate a willingness to participate in training and staff development relevant to the role and take advantage of learning opportunities.
- Social work qualification and at least one year's post-qualifying experience in a social work role.
- A current valid UK driving license and the use of a car for work, with valid insurance covering business use where required.
