About the Role

We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Vistry Group. As a key member of our site operations team, you will play a crucial role in ensuring the successful delivery of our construction projects.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate multi-disciplinary tasks and ensure that tasks are carried out safely, on time, and to the required standard.
  • Promote and enforce our Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) standards, and ensure that all site operations are conducted in a safe and controlled manner.
  • Assist the Site Manager in chairing and leading regular subcontractor coordination meetings to monitor progress against the project program and ensure compliance with HSE and quality standards.
  • Ensure compliance with our Business Management System and focus on reducing the NHBC RI rate to below 0.20.
  • Take ownership of the requisition and storage of materials, ensuring that they are available when required on site and that wastage is minimized.
  • Ensure that all site operations are conducted in accordance with approved Risk Assessments and Method Statements, and that current legislation and safe working procedures are followed.
  • Supervise the site for short periods of time or cover sites to facilitate annual leave of colleagues.
  • Develop and maintain customer, client, and supply chain relationships, and manage expectations of all parties involved in the project.
  • Be commercially aware of the implications of decisions taken on site, with a view to identifying potential savings throughout the build.
  • Establish and maintain line and level control on site, and ensure effective delivery of projects that complete on program.
  • Deliver a quality product with zero defects at handover.
Requirements
  • Valid First Aid at Work Certificate
  • NVQ Level 3-4 BTEC diploma in Building Construction or similar
  • Valid Scaffold Inspection certificate
  • Qualified to the required CIOB Grade applicable at the time in accordance with group policy
  • Good working knowledge of Microsoft Outlook, Word, Excel, and Asta
  • Experience in a management or supervisory position
  • Knowledge of NHBC Standards and HBF ratings
