We are seeking an experienced and skilled Assistant Site Manager to join our team at Vistry Group. As a key member of our construction team, you will be responsible for supporting the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works, and the day-to-day management and delivery of a larger-scale housing project.
Key Responsibilities- Support the Project Manager and Site Manager in the day-to-day control of the site, management and delivery of project works.
- Manage and deliver project works, ensuring timely completion and adherence to quality standards.
- Lead by example, managing the day-to-day delivery of construction projects, quality, time, procurement, and contractors.
- Manage sub-contractors, including monitoring of contractor attendance and progress, providing direct instruction and support as necessary.
- Follow Vistry site procedures and maintain all daily, weekly, and monthly site paperwork as required to be audit compliant.
- Involved with the management of internal/external design teams/consultants to meet project deadlines under supervision from a Contract Manager.
- Produces and regularly reviews short-term programs in line with the overall project program (including procurement & Design & Build) to ensure completion on time under the supervision of Contract Manager.
- Ensure that detailed plans are available commensurate with the overall project plan such that material/resources/supply chain can be delivered to meet scheduled deadlines.
- Appreciate the commercial implications and drivers within the construction process and incorporate these into decision-making working closely with the project Surveyor.
- Liaise with Contract Manager to ensure that they are fully aware of project progress and is notified of all financial, specification, and time risks ensuring that all additional work is identified.
- SMSTS, CSCS, First Aid, Scaffold inspection qualification.
- Strong leadership and management skills, with the ability to motivate and direct a team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with colleagues, contractors, and stakeholders.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on collaboration and teamwork.
- Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify and resolve complex issues.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
