Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children with social, emotional, mental health (SEMH) and SEND needs in an outstanding primary school in SN5.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work closely with the staff team to contribute to students' EHCPs and individual needs academically and socially
  • Plan and deliver interventions alongside teachers
  • Support in managing the behavior of pupils while they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced
  • De-escalate situations within the classroom in the correct way, certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered
  • Report any safeguarding concerns using the school's referral procedures and safeguarding policies

Requirements:

  • Previous school experience or a supportive role, such as a support worker/youth worker/teaching assistant/carer/intervention/tutor
  • Ability to work with children with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work as part of a team
