Job Title: Mental Health Support Worker

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team at Protocol Education. As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in supporting children with social, emotional, and mental health needs in an outstanding primary school.

About the Role:

As a Mental Health Support Worker, you will work closely with teachers and other support staff to contribute to the development of individualized education plans (IEPs) and provide targeted support to students with SEMH and SEND needs. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Working closely with the staff team to contribute to student's IEPs and individual needs academically and socially
  • Planning and delivering interventions alongside the teacher
  • Supporting in managing the behavior of pupils while they undertake their work and ensuring a constructive and positive environment is always enforced
  • De-escalating situations within the classroom in the correct way, certifying safeguarding procedures are always adhered
  • Reporting any safeguarding concerns using the school's referral procedures and safeguarding policies

Requirements:

To be successful in this role, you will need to have:

  • Previous experience working with children with SEMH and SEND needs
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment
  • Valid enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS) check and subscription to the DBS Update Service
