Rethink Mental Illness is a leading charity provider of mental health services in England, supporting thousands of people through our groups, services, policy, campaigns, and advice and information. We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Mental Health Recovery Worker to join our Swindon Services, Bath Road team.

The successful candidate will assist individuals with mental illness in rebuilding confidence and engaging in daily activities, working closely with service users to help them achieve personal goals and access necessary support on their recovery journey.

Key responsibilities will include:

  • Providing key worker support, including one-on-one guidance and coordination with mental health agencies.
  • Focusing on individual needs, utilising communication, motivation, and coaching to help service users reach their goals.
  • Building respectful, honest relationships while maintaining professional boundaries and adhering to the Rethink Mental Illness Code of Conduct.

Essential experience and skills required for this role include:

  • Transferable life/work experience to apply to this role.
  • Experience of providing support to people with a mental illness, or experience of providing care and/or support services within another social care setting in either a paid or voluntary capacity.
  • Good listening skills, empathy, understanding, kindness, patience, and a willingness to learn.
  • Demonstrating behaviours consistent with the values of the Charity.
  • Experience of working with digital systems, including Microsoft applications, email, and internet.
