About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to join our team at South Tyneside and Sunderland NHS Foundation Trust. As an Administrative Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting the clinical and secretarial teams in providing exceptional patient care.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide clerical support to the Division of Medicine under the supervision of Chest Secretaries.
  • Register attendances and update patient demographic details in the patient administration system.
  • Comply with the Trust's vision, values, and behavioural compact.
  • Provide typing support to the Division of Medicine under the supervision of the Chest Secretaries.
Person Specification

We are looking for a motivated and enthusiastic individual who possesses excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. The ideal candidate will have experience of audio typing, Microsoft Office, and be able to work effectively in a multi-disciplinary team.

  • Qualifications:
    • RSAII Typing/Word Processing or minimum 2 years proven experience.
    • Educated to GCSE Level 2 (Numeracy and Literacy) standard or equivalent.
    • Experience of communicating with people at all levels both in person and in writing, by email and telephone.
  • Experience:
    • At least six months clerical experience in a busy office environment.
    • Confident, persuasive, and able to communicate at all levels.
