Photography Support Specialist – Alton Campus

Overview of the Position

The Art & Design department at HSDC is actively seeking a Photography Support Specialist to enhance our dedicated team. This role is essential for facilitating the delivery of A level Photography courses. Candidates should possess experience in operating darkroom equipment and will be responsible for assisting students in utilizing the darkroom while ensuring the facility is well-maintained.

Work Schedule: 10 hours per week / 36 weeks

Compensation: Grade 3 Spinal Point 10 FTE £22,507.70

Employment Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizing daily operations within the educational environment, including the preparation of instructional materials and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Assisting individual students or groups within the educational setting.
  • Conducting reviews of health and safety policies and procedures, including risk assessments.
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment, along with preparing plans for replacements.
  • Ordering and conducting inventory of materials and equipment.
  • Cleaning and maintaining workspaces, enhancing the working environment, and providing technical support for various projects.

Required Qualifications

Essential:

  • Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy.
  • Relevant experience in the industry or subject area.
  • Knowledge and understanding of Health & Safety regulations.

Desirable:

  • Level 2 qualification in a related subject area.
  • Awareness of safeguarding practices for vulnerable groups.
  • Familiarity with inventory management.
