Photography Support Specialist – Alton Campus

Position Overview

The Art & Design department at HSDC is seeking to hire a Photography Support Specialist to enhance our dedicated team. This role will encompass essential responsibilities for facilitating course delivery in A level Photography. Candidates should possess experience in operating and managing a darkroom environment. The position will include assisting students with darkroom usage and ensuring the upkeep of the facility.

Work Schedule: 10 hours per week / 36 weeks

Compensation: Grade 3 Spinal Point 10 FTE £22,507.70

Employment Type: Permanent

Key Responsibilities

  • Organizing daily operations within the educational setting, including preparation of instructional materials and maintaining cleanliness.
  • Providing support to individual students or groups within the educational framework.
  • Conducting evaluations of health and safety policies and procedures in the workplace and performing risk assessments.
  • Monitoring and maintaining equipment, along with preparing plans for replacements.
  • Ordering and conducting inventory checks of materials and equipment.
  • Cleaning and maintaining workspaces, enhancing the working environment, and offering technical support for projects.

Required Qualifications

Essential

  • Level 2 qualification in literacy and numeracy
  • Relevant industrial or subject-related experience
  • Awareness and understanding of Health & Safety regulations

Desirable

  • Level 2 qualification in a relevant subject area
  • Knowledge of safeguarding vulnerable groups
  • Familiarity with inventory management
