As a Facilities Maintenance Assistant, you will collaborate closely with the Technical Management team, technicians, and skilled tradespeople to guarantee the efficient operation and upkeep of engineering systems and equipment.

Responsibilities include performing ductwork cleaning, replacing lamps and tubes, and general cleaning of mechanical rooms and equipment.
Complying with safety regulations and protocols while operating in high-risk and demanding environments.
Ensuring timely completion of assigned duties, even if it necessitates working outside of regular hours.
Providing coverage for shift and holiday requirements as necessary.

Success Profile:

- Recognized industry training (NVQs - task-specific technical training) and health and safety certification.
- Experience in a facilities maintenance environment.
- Ability to manage workload and oversee Facilities Maintenance Assistants, ensuring effective resource distribution.
- Accurately complete documentation, work orders, and logbooks using the Computer Aided Facilities Management (CAFM) system.
- Conduct unsupervised planned preventative maintenance (PPM) inspections and tasks where safe and appropriate.
- Escort contractors as required.
- Ensure adherence to permit-to-work systems and maintenance manuals.
- Physical demands of the role include occasional manual handling and extended working hours.
- Occasional risk of interacting with dissatisfied or distressed staff, patients, and visitors.
- Access technical areas of the facility as needed.

Mental/Emotional Demands:

- Ability to respond swiftly and calmly in significant incidents.

Candidate Profile:
- Residing within a reasonable travel distance from the site.
- Flexible approach to working hours and locations.
- Willingness to attend necessary training sessions.
- Provide training, technical guidance, and support to apprentices, trainees, and colleagues.
