Opportunity to join a leading business as their Financial Operations Manager

About the Role

This is an exciting opportunity to join a forward-thinking, industry-leading business as their Financial Operations Manager. The company is seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join their growing team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Monitor and maintain the company's accounting system, ensuring compliance and accuracy.
  • Manage the Purchase Order Control system, ensuring efficient and effective processes.
  • Collaborate with the management team to create an annual budget, ensuring alignment with business objectives.
  • Perform month-end and year-end closedown in the accounting system, ensuring timely and accurate financial reporting.
  • Reconcile the General Ledger, Balance Sheet, and Cashbook, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Manage the Purchase Ledger and Sales Ledger, ensuring effective debt management and reconciliation.
  • Produce monthly financial and management accounts, providing insights into business performance.
  • Develop and maintain strong working relationships with external accountants, ensuring timely and accurate statutory accounts production.
  • Reconcile and submit Quarterly VAT returns, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.
  • Liaise with the external payroll bureau, ensuring accurate and timely payroll processing.
  • Manage the company pension scheme, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements.

Requirements

  • Experience in a similar role, with a strong understanding of financial operations and management.
  • Fully qualified AAT or equivalent, with a strong working knowledge of SAGE.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to drive improvements and implement change.
  • Ability to develop and maintain strong working relationships, with internal and external stakeholders.
