Mainframe Security Engineer

Stratacent is seeking a seasoned Mainframe Security Engineer to join our team. As a key member of our security team, you will be responsible for articulating migration plans and helping clients understand the pros and cons of migration.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Explain specific security product features and enable a smooth migration.
  • Prior security products migration experience is a definite advantage.
  • CA Top Secret security product experience is required.
  • Perform security products migration from CA Broadcom to IBM RACF / Vanguard and other products.
Mandatory Experience:
  • 10+ years of relevant mainframe technical experience as a Security Engineer utilizing Top Secret & RACF.
  • 3+ years of experience working in Services or projects, preferably customer-facing in a professional consultative capacity.
  • Systems programming skills and experience recognizing security exposures and configuration issues.
  • A self-starter, willing to work without a net with a proven ability to meet assigned timelines with high-quality, complete deliverables in unsupervised, often remote, situations.
  • Willingness to mentor and share ideas and knowledge with other colleagues promoting best practices.
  • Demonstrable experience in deployment lifecycle across multiple environments (Test, Dev, QA, and Production).
  • Demonstrated success in building key relationships in the past with Sales, Technical Support, Application Teams, and Product Engineering.
Desirable Experience:
  • Prior experience in migration projects from Top Secret to RACF.
  • z/OS Operating System and Program Product installs, SYSPLEX, system configurations, upgrades, user mods/exits, in large complex environments. Strong experience with SMP/E, testing and deployment strategies, problem determination and resolution.
  • Experience with mainframe security products around Top Secret and RACF.
