About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Mainframe Migration Solutions Architect to join our team at Amazon. As a key member of our Worldwide Specialist Organization, you will be responsible for driving Mainframe Modernization discussions with customers, providing technical thought leadership, and building solutions architecture for migration planning, POC scoping, and technical asset creation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Engage with customers to understand their Mainframe migration needs and develop tailored solutions to accelerate their cloud journey.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to ensure successful customer progression and drive overall end-customer adoption.
  • Develop and share best practices, technical content, and new reference architectures to educate and evangelize about AWS technology.
  • Participate in the creation of cloud-native reference architectures for various use cases and drive innovation in Mainframe migration solutions.
Requirements
  • 8+ years of experience in specific technology domain areas, such as software development, cloud computing, systems engineering, infrastructure, security, networking, data & analytics.
  • 3+ years of design, implementation, or consulting experience in applications and infrastructures.
  • 10+ years of IT development or implementation/consulting experience in the software or Internet industries.
  • Background in Cloud Architecture, Systems Design, Software Development, Infrastructure Architecture, Data Engineering, or DevOps construction of large-scale Migration solutions.
  • Extensive infrastructure architecture, database architecture, and networking experience.
  • Experience working with customers in Financial Services.
  • Extensive experience with mainframe, non-x86 legacy systems, and technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2 for z/OS, Assembler, PL/I, Java, Rexx, flat/sequential files, GDGs, and VSAM.
  • Experience migrating workloads from mainframe and non-x86 legacy systems to distributed x86 infrastructures on-premises or in the Cloud.
