About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Global Specialist to join our team in Germany. As a key member of our Worldwide Specialist Organization (WWSO), you will play a critical role in driving the adoption of AWS services among our EMEA customers.

Key Responsibilities
  • Collaborate with our GTM colleagues to develop and execute technical strategies that support the growth of AWS services in the region.
  • Act as a thought leader, sharing best practices and expertise through various channels, including AWS blogs, whitepapers, and public speaking events.
  • Guide and support our internal community of technical subject matter experts, providing field enablement materials to help them understand how to integrate new AWS solutions into customer architectures.
Requirements

To be successful in this role, you will need:

  • 7+ years of experience in designing, implementing, and consulting on distributed applications.
  • 5+ years of management experience in technical, customer-facing resources.
  • Extensive experience with mainframe, non-x86 legacy systems, and technologies such as COBOL, JCL, CICS, DB2, IMS Assembler, PL/I, Java, REXX, flat/sequential files, GDGs, and VSAM for IBM-z/OS.
  • Knowledge and experience with mid-range systems migrations, especially on IBM I or Power series (CL, RPG, DB400/DB2 on AS400).
  • Experience migrating workloads from mainframe and non-x86 legacy systems to distributed x86 infrastructures on-premises or in the cloud.
  • Familiarity with common enterprise services and working knowledge of software development tools and methodologies.
  • Experience working within software development or Internet-related industries.
  • AWS Solution Architecture certification or relevant cloud expertise.
  • Computer Science or relevant degree and/or experience highly desired.
