Transformative Opportunity in Nuclear Engineering

Vulcain Engineering - UK, a leading engineering consultancy, is seeking a skilled Assistant Project Manager to join our Technical Communities in the South East of England. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in delivering engineering, procurement, manufacturing, construction, and commissioning activities for the life cycle of contracts or work packages.

The Role

The Assistant Project Manager will ensure the delivery of projects in accordance with the overall project schedule, safety, quality, time, and cost parameters. Key responsibilities include:

  • Project Scope Definition: Define the work scope to be delivered within the contract or package of work and interfaces to other elements of the programme.
  • Stakeholder Management: Maintain effective communications with all stakeholders and execute project or PEP strategies within their contract or package of work.
  • Deliverables Management: Ensure the List of Deliverables (LOD) relating to the scope of work is delivered.
  • Resource Management: Assist in securing the required resources to meet project requirements, ensuring the maintenance of SQEP for any assigned resource and promptly identifying any personnel shortfalls or issues within their project team.
  • Project Planning: Develop, manage, and update project and programme plans, including full costing, development of WBSs, resource management, cost management of risk, and critical path review, using appropriate software and tools.
  • Change Control: Manage the change control as the project/programme scope changes, using the correct processes and updating the necessary configuration documentation.
  • Project Baseline Control: Understand the need for project baseline control and different types of baseline change.
  • Earned Value Management: Apply the principles of Earned Value Management (EVM).
