Southampton, Southampton, United Kingdom University Hospital Southampton NHS Trust Full time

Job Overview

University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust is excited to present an exceptional opportunity to join our dedicated team.

Below is a comprehensive overview of the responsibilities associated with this role.

Key Responsibilities

Southampton Children's Hospital is seeking a passionate and motivated nurse to enhance our regional specialist Cystic Fibrosis service. You will collaborate with three other clinical nurse specialists, delivering care in one of the largest CF centers in the southern region.

The CF clinical nurse specialists are vital members of the CF multidisciplinary team (MDT) and play a crucial role in providing day-to-day care for patients and their families. Your involvement will encompass all facets of CF management across inpatient, outpatient, community, and outreach settings. This position entails the provision and continuous enhancement of clinical care and scientific research for approximately 200 patients, both in full and shared care. The post holder will also be expected to support regional clinics, offering expert knowledge and guidance while striving to advance and facilitate a skilled nursing provision throughout the clinical network.

UHS is committed to providing outstanding training and development opportunities, ensuring you have the best possible chance to achieve your career aspirations. The growth of our staff is central to delivering high-quality, safe, and effective care. We offer a supportive environment that fosters career progression, as reflected in our staff survey results.

About Us

As one of the largest acute teaching Trusts in England, we provide numerous learning and development opportunities to help you reach your career goals.

Non-clinical roles may involve a blend of on-site and remote work. Specific details and flexible working arrangements can be discussed during the interview process. UHS employees enjoy access to a variety of NHS discounts, a minimum of 35 days of paid holiday (pro rata), and a generous pension scheme.

Southampton is a desirable location for living and working, situated on the south coast, with an international airport and direct train services to London. The New Forest National Park and the beaches of the Jurassic coast are also in close proximity. The city offers living costs that are 20% lower than London, along with 14 schools rated outstanding by Ofsted.

For this role, we are open to discussing flexible working hours. Please feel free to discuss your needs during the interview, and we will explore what is feasible for the role and service.
