Position Summary

The Packer is accountable for managing the equipment utilized in the packing process, ensuring that all operations (production and sanitation) are executed to the highest standards, adhering to relevant documentation and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

You will oversee all materials, both bulk and finished products, entering and leaving the packing area, ensuring compliance with documentation and GMP protocols.

Your role will involve packing products to meet the highest quality standards while adhering to established GMP guidelines and ensuring that all activities are conducted within the defined Health and Safety regulations.

Additionally, you will be expected to contribute to achieving the daily production targets.

Key Responsibilities

In this diverse role, the successful candidate will be responsible for a variety of tasks, including:

  • Packing products to meet the highest quality standards, in compliance with regulatory requirements and current GMP guidelines.
  • Ensuring adherence to Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Packing batch records, fulfilling individual responsibilities related to GMP.
  • Participating in any in-house training or on-the-job training as required.
  • Ensuring the safe and efficient operation of machinery and equipment.
  • Strictly following packing methods as outlined in documentation and reporting any issues or discrepancies to the Line Lead, Packing Specialist, or Shift Manager.
  • Maintaining cleanliness and functionality of all equipment, promptly informing the Line Lead, Packing Specialist, or Shift Manager of any deficiencies.
  • Upholding the highest standards of cleanliness, hygiene, and personal care within the department.
  • Promptly notifying the Line Lead, Packing Specialist, or Shift Manager of any significant safety or GMP failures that could impact staff safety or product integrity.
  • Completing any other reasonable tasks assigned by a senior staff member, provided proper training has been received.

Ideal Candidate Profile

  • Strong knowledge of Health and Safety regulations.
  • Effective time and workload management skills.
  • Excellent communication abilities with peers and other departments.
  • Experience in a low to medium manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrable experience in similar batch manufacturing roles.
  • Familiarity with Root Cause Analysis (RCA) techniques is advantageous.
  • Previous experience in a pharmaceutical setting is preferred but not mandatory.
  • Understanding of Quality Management Systems (QMS) including CAPAs, CCs, NCRs, etc., and relevant industry experience in a regulated GMP manufacturing environment is beneficial but not essential.

Due to the nature of our operations, all successful candidates will be required to undergo a basic DBS check (Disclosure and Barring Service check) prior to employment and at regular intervals thereafter. Dechra will cover the cost of this check.
