Housing Support Coordinator – Northwest

Job Type: Full-time, Permanent

Salary: £30,326 per annum

Hours: 35 hours per week (+ 5 hours paid lunch)

Location: HYBRID - Covering Nottingham, Mansfield, Derbyshire, and Sheffield

This position necessitates regular travel within a designated area; therefore, possessing a Full Driving License and access to a personal vehicle is essential. You will be eligible to claim mileage expenses from your home base at 45p per mile traveled.

An Enhanced DBS and Prison Clearance are prerequisites for this role and will be processed during the Pre-Employment Screening.

Who We Are Seeking:

Are you dedicated to social justice and housing? Do you possess experience in the social housing sector as a Housing Officer? If so, we invite you to lead housing management in your designated area, collaborating closely with our Support teams.

Your knowledge of Housing Law, Welfare Benefits (particularly Housing Benefit), and the funding mechanisms for supported housing, including Exempt Accommodation regulations, will be crucial.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Income Recovery: Maximize income by monitoring rent accounts, addressing arrears, and ensuring residents fulfill their rent obligations.
  2. Collaborative Action: Partner with Support Workers and Housing Management Workers to manage arrears effectively.
  3. Benefits Engagement: Coordinate with Housing Benefit and our Welfare Benefit Advisor for complex cases to ensure accurate benefit levels.

Tenancy Support:

  1. Enforce Tenancy Conditions: Ensure compliance with tenancy and license conditions.
  2. Induct and Train: Assist new team members with training on housing management and tenancy creation.
  3. Promote Prevention: Advise on and manage less complex anti-social behavior cases, focusing on prevention and early intervention.

Legal Duties:

  1. Prepare Documentation: Create and manage notices, witness statements, and court documents for enforcement or tenancy termination.
  2. Court Representation: Represent the organization in court when necessary.

Estate Management/Property Standards:

Deliver training on property standards and ensure that documentation and reporting systems are maintained.

Policy Access: Assist staff in accessing and understanding policies and procedures related to property standards and issue escalation.
