Position Overview

South Yorkshire Housing Association Ltd is seeking to fill 2 positions for Residential Support Specialists within our Livewell SAMS and Agency team. This is a permanent opportunity, with one role offering 30 hours per week and the other 37 hours per week.

This role includes an essential car user allowance, and candidates must possess a valid full driving license.

Role Responsibilities:

The SAMS initiative focuses on housing management across South Yorkshire, assisting individuals with support needs to maintain independence in their residences.

Our clientele includes individuals facing learning challenges, physical disabilities, and enduring mental health conditions. As a Residential Support Specialist, you will need to be exceptionally organized and adaptable, thriving in a collaborative team environment.

Key responsibilities encompass:

  • Evaluating client needs
  • Facilitating client transitions in and out of housing
  • Conducting property assessments
  • Addressing client grievances
  • Managing rental arrears
  • Overseeing household financial management
  • Coordinating with support service providers
  • Responding to inquiries from both internal and external parties

The Agency Services Team oversees 308 accommodation units across various locations, collaborating with 17 voluntary sector organizations to provide housing and support for residents with diverse needs.

To excel in this position, you must possess strong communication skills, both verbal and written, and demonstrate a positive, empathetic, and constructive approach when interacting with clients, colleagues, and other professionals.
