Family Support Practitioner

We are seeking a skilled Family Support Practitioner to join our Suffolk Therapeutic Fostering Team at Suffolk County Council. As a key member of our team, you will work closely with clinical psychologists, social workers, and other professionals to provide therapeutic support to foster carers and young people.
Key Responsibilities- Provide coaching and mentoring to young people to help them develop self-coaching skills and achieve their goals.
- Work with foster carers to provide training and support to help them care for children.
- Contribute to the expansion and development of the team, including the facilitation of training and support for young people and foster carers.
- A relevant level 3 practitioner qualification or equivalent experience in a relevant area of work.
- Experience of coaching, mentoring, and supporting young people.
- Ability to work flexibly and provide goal-focused, child-centred support.
We provide a county-wide therapeutic support service to Suffolk foster carers. Our team consists of a clinical lead, clinical psychologist, social workers, and family support practitioners who work together to provide a range of training and therapeutic courses.
We offer a range of training and support to foster carers, including Toolkit Training, Theraplay Intervention's, Positive Parenting, and CEOP IT Safety Training.
