Job Title: Project Officer - Adult Protection

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Project Officer to join our Adult Protection team in Highland. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading and coordinating the Highland Appropriate Adult Service, as well as undertaking the Appropriate Adult role as required.

The post holder will also support the work of the Principal Officer for Adult Protection and the Highland Adult Protection Committee, including raising awareness of Adult Protection, highlighting and communicating the work of the committee to the multi-agency partnership, and improving participation and involvement of those with lived experience.

The ideal candidate will have knowledge of Adult Social Care, Adult Support & Protection, Appropriate Adult, and other statutory legislation, as well as experience in a Project Officer or similar role.

The team is based in Inverness, but due to the nature of the post, Highland-wide applicants and options for remote working will be considered. The post holder will be expected to travel as required for the role.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate the Highland Appropriate Adult Service
  • Undertake the Appropriate Adult role as required
  • Support the work of the Principal Officer for Adult Protection and the Highland Adult Protection Committee
  • Raise awareness of Adult Protection and communicate the work of the committee to the multi-agency partnership
  • Improve participation and involvement of those with lived experience

Requirements:

  • Knowledge of Adult Social Care, Adult Support & Protection, Appropriate Adult, and other statutory legislation
  • Experience in a Project Officer or similar role
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills

Working Hours: 37 hours per week, with flexibility to work up to an additional 30 minutes per week for a temporary period.
