The leadership team is looking to appoint a Graduate Teaching Assistant for Special Educational Needs to provide support for students with diverse needs, including Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Specific Learning Difficulties (SpLD), and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) challenges.
This Graduate Teaching Assistant for Special Educational Needs position entails assisting students with SEND/SEMH requirements on an individual and small group basis, as well as aiding classroom educators in delivering essential subject content. This role is perfect for individuals aspiring to build a career in education, psychology, social work, mental health support, and related fields.
Key Responsibilities of the Graduate Teaching Assistant for Special Educational Needs
- Engaging in an 'Outstanding' Primary School environment
- Providing support to students with SEND/SEMH needs on a 1:1 and group basis
- Full-time commitment during term time
- Collaborating across Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS), Key Stage 1 (KS1), and Key Stage 2 (KS2)
- Monitoring student progress and assisting children of varying ages and abilities

- A graduate with strong academic credentials, including GCSEs, A-Levels, and a Degree
- Exceptional communication and interpersonal abilities
- Prior experience in educational settings, particularly with children with SEN
- A passion for motivating and inspiring young learners
