Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and dedicated SEN Teaching Assistant to join our team at a Primary school in Camden. As a SEN Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting a Year 1 pupil with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD) in their academic and social development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one support to the pupil, assisting them in their academic and social development.
  • Create a supportive and inclusive classroom environment that promotes the pupil's learning and engagement.
  • Collaborate with other professionals, such as speech and language therapists, to ensure a comprehensive approach to the pupil's development.
  • Document progress and communicate effectively with the pupil's parents and the wider school community.

Requirements:

  • Experience working with children with ASD or similar special educational needs.
  • Strong understanding of ASD and familiarity with strategies to support pupils with ASD.
  • Patience, empathy, and a genuine passion for working with children.
  • Ability to adapt and respond effectively to the pupil's changing needs.
