We are currently seeking an Urban Drainage Modelling Specialist to enhance our operations across the UK. Candidate Profile:

The ideal candidate will possess extensive knowledge of the water market, exceptional technical abilities, and a proven history in business development, client relations, project oversight, and team leadership. Responsibilities will include playing a pivotal role in the execution of clean water network infrastructure initiatives and fostering the growth of our Urban Drainage Modelling expertise.

Applicants should hold a relevant degree, possess professional qualifications, and demonstrate a wide-ranging experience in:
  • Model Development and Validation - crafting reliable sewer network models suitable for thorough analysis and solution formulation.
  • Model Upkeep - refining models with a focus on specific study objectives.
  • Hydraulic and Water Quality Assessment - conducting intelligent evaluations of catchment hydraulics and pollutant origins to identify needs and risks.
  • Integrated Catchment Modelling - developing models to assess the interactions among sewers (both storm and foul), watercourses, and surface flows.
  • Catchment Strategy - identifying hydraulic, environmental, and operational requirements of catchments and formulating various strategic approaches to enhance catchment performance.
  • Design Solutions - creating preliminary designs and assisting throughout the detailed design phase.
  • Technical Guidance - offering direction and advice to clients to facilitate informed asset investment decisions.

  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.

  • Adept at building and sustaining robust relationships with both internal teams and external clients.

  • Possession of a full, clean UK driving license.
Key Responsibilities:

This role encompasses significant responsibilities concerning business performance, resilience, and technical reputation, contributing to the execution of business strategy. Key responsibilities include:
  • Technical Responsibilities:
    • Assume the Technical Lead role on projects to ensure AtkinsRéalis delivers innovative, efficient, and reliable outcomes for clients.
    • Take on the Project Director role as necessary.
    • Serve as Programme/Framework Manager on strategic, multidisciplinary projects.
    • Encourage team participation in internal best practice forums and external profile-raising initiatives.
    • Promote staff development through training, practical experience, and personal growth opportunities.
  • Business Responsibilities:
    • Foster team integration.
    • Ensure adherence to corporate standards and policies.
    • Develop client relationships with key Water Company and non-Water Company clients to strategically enhance both revenue and profit margins.
    • Encourage the integration of traditional engineering skills with innovative digital techniques.
    • Provide management and technical support for bidding opportunities to secure work and identify potential risks.

Compensation and Benefits:

We provide a competitive salary benchmarked against industry standards, along with a default of 25 days of annual leave plus bank holidays, with options to buy or sell leave. Salary and benefits will be aligned with experience and qualifications.

Additional Information:

This position may necessitate security clearance, and offers of employment will be contingent upon obtaining the required level of clearance. The vetting process is conducted by United Kingdom Security Vetting (UKSV) and may require candidates to provide proof of UK residency for a minimum of five years.
