Vehicle Technician

We are seeking a skilled Vehicle Technician to join our team at East of England Ambulance Service. As a key member of our Workshop Services team, you will play a vital role in ensuring our ambulances are safe and operational for patients in need.
Job Summary:The successful candidate will be responsible for diagnosing and repairing faults in our vehicles, ensuring they meet MOT standards and are returned to service in a timely and cost-efficient manner. You will work closely with our team to maintain a high level of vehicle availability and ensure our fleet is always ready to respond to emergencies.
Key Responsibilities:- Diagnose and repair faults in vehicles, including mechanical, electrical, and bodywork repairs
- Perform routine maintenance and servicing on vehicles to ensure they meet MOT standards
- Work collaboratively with the team to maintain a high level of vehicle availability
- Participate in a rota for 24-hour service and repair callouts
- Carry out MOT inspections and repairs as required
- Responsible for the safe working practices undertaken when dealing with motor vehicle air-conditioning systems
- Responsible for full utilisation of computerised diagnostic equipment to assist in diagnosing vehicle faults
- C1 License category (or able to achieve)
- Full UK Driving Licence
- Extensive post-apprenticeship experience in vehicle mechanical engineering
- NVQ 2 in Vehicle Maintenance Repair (Light Vehicle) #4270 and/or experience gained in a similar working environment
